Here you will find some of the most frequently asked questions about the Lifestyle garage screen system. 1. What is the warranty on the Lifestyle garage screen system? There is a Limited Lifetime warranty covering the parts. Screen mesh is not included in the warranty. The manufacturer does not provide you with a warranty on labor, be sure to discuss this with your installer. 2. Does the Lifestyle screen replace my existing garage door? No. You will still use your garage door as you normally would. The Lifestyle garage screen system works in conjunction with your existing garage door allowing you to quickly switch between your garage door and your Lifestyle garage screen system. When in use, the Lifestyle garage screen exchanges positions with your garage door. 3. Does the Lifestyle garage screen system work with wind loaded doors such as those found in Florida and other coastal areas? Yes, the Lifestyle system works with all wind loaded and hurricane reinforced doors. However, if your garage door is reinforced with 6" C-channels, you should discuss the changes necessary with your installer. 4. Can you add a locking mechanism to the retractable door? Yes, the retractable door can be fitted with a locking mechanism at an additional cost. Locking mechanisms are optional. 5. What sizes and colors are available? Currently, we have 6' wide to 18' wide models and 7', 8', 9' and 10' tall*. The frame is currently available in white, brown and sandstone. * 9' and 10' models available up to 16' width only. 6. I have storage over my garage doors now. Can the Lifestyle garage screen and my garage door go down so I can access it? Yes, you will want to open your garage door, roll your Lifestyle garage screen down until it touches the floor, leaving it "kicked back" from the jamb. Then simply disconnect your garage door from the opener with the safety disconnect cord and gently roll the garage door down until it rests on the Lifestyle frame. (Please refer to the pictures.) 7. How much clearance will I lose from my existing garage door opening when the Lifestyle is installed? Typically, you will not lose more than 1.75" of clearance. |

Some hang by hook and loop, some are Velcro® mounted with a zippered opening, others are panel and track systems (sliders), you can even find garage screens that go up and down by the simple push of a button. The SuperScreen Upgrade An upgrade to a patented Super Screen is strongly suggested. It provides insect and pest protection, privacy, safety, and debris control. SuperScreen offers the homeowner extended durability and protection by incorporating superior tear resistance and tensile strength. It gives the homeowner a quality investment and trouble-free enjoyment, with lasting aesthetic appeal and low maintenance. It provides the homeowner many years of worry-free durability and protection, by incorporating superior tear resistance and tensile strength. SuperScreen material is made of 17x20 PVC coated polyester that defies deterioration. In a simulated seven-year weathering test, SuperScreen lost only1% of its original strength. In fact, it remained 3 times stronger than new fiberglass screen NEARLY 900LBs! The fiberglass screen material available today can become hard and brittle within 3 to 4 years, to the point it can be easily damaged by jumpy pets, flying objects (like a golf ball) or children at play. Within 6 to 7 years, with deterioration, a strong gust of wind can tear fiberglass screen to shreds. Benefits of the SuperScreen Durability: The strength of our fabric provides increased resistance to punctures and tears caused by falling debris as well as better protection from pet damage, thereby extending the useful life of the product. UV Protection/Stable: The UV properties of our material increase the longevity of the fabric while addressing health and safety concerns by providing excellent solar protection. Privacy: The construction of our fabric inhibits visibility from the outside while offering a clear view from the inside. The Lifestyle screen runs on maintenance free tracks, independent but similar to your primary garage door tracks. Lifestyle's spring loaded counter-balance system makes it effortless to open and close the screen and eliminates the headache of an electric opener. Lifestyle's optional door-within-a-door feature allows for easy entry and exit. When in use, the Lifestyle screen occupies the same position as your solid garage door. No other garage screen offers Lifestyle's broad range of features. Bottom line is, your search for a garage screen system that will give you many years of trouble free service ends here. Low headroom garage doors are typically found in basement garages. They are typically identified by two tracks on the horizontal. Your local dealer will verify this for you. 8. How much does the Lifestyle garage screen system cost? Anywhere from $1,100-$1,700 depending on size. 9. What is the difference in airflow between the standard 18x14 fiberglass screen and the optional screen material? You will get approximately 10% more airflow with the standard screen (58%) above optional screen materials (48% airflow). 10. Can I install my Lifestyle garage screen system myself? We do not sell directly to consumers. The Lifestyle garage screen is a spring loaded system and should only be installed by a trained professional. 11. What is the upgraded screen mesh made of? The upgraded Lifestyle screen uses a mesh made of pvc coated polyester. The weave pattern is 17x20 and both the charcoal and white are good for customers looking for an extremely strong mesh. Only the white mesh functions as a privacy screen the charcoal does not. FYI, the standard mesh is made of fiberglass in an 18x14 weave pattern similar to that used in window screens. 12. Will the LifestyleScreen work on a low headroom garage door? ( double horizontal track system) The Lifestyle screen will not work on low headroom applications. Low headroom garage doors are typically found in basement garages. They are typically identified by two tracks on the horizontal. Your local dealer will verify this for you. 13. Is the Lifestyle garage screen system the same as the Breezy Living Screen Solutions garage screen system? Advanced Screenworks had licensed our patented technology to a company that manufactured and sold the product under the name of Breezy Living. That license agreement has since ended. Advanced Screenworks is now the sole manufacturer of this product. Although numerous changes have been made based on the feedback from the field, the Lifestyle garage screen still functions the same. A couple of the refinements are that the frames all come precision cut and drilled, we have upgraded the center retractable door and a few other changes that have been very well received by installers and consumers alike. |
